Background
Leadership development for physicians is important for career growth, with doctors expected to be
leaders of clinical and administrative teams while advocating for their patients and spearheading health
education. Ironically, leadership development is lacking during the formative years of medical school
and residency education. In addition, after formal medical education graduation, most physicians
let skill development sink to the bottom of the priority list, sacrificing it for clinical knowledge and the
burden of their practice. The ability to become a leader has to be able to advocate for ourselves and
colleagues or advance the profession overall.

Gain clarity on what emotional intelligence looks like in action
Navigate the common pitfalls experienced by physician leaders

Gain tools for mitigating the risk of burnout
At the Sydney conference, a workshop will be conducted to bring all webinar participants on a level
playing field. The certificate of completion is to be handed in at the end of the session.
